Cooch Behar in West Bengal is predominantly a historical town where one can fully experience the deep rooted influence of ancient cultural heritage and traditions handed down through generations by its previous rulers. In fact, this heritage town is the only planned town in West Bengal with remnants of its glorious royal past which is evident in stately palaces, museum, beautiful gardens, mansions, large water bodies and temples.

HOW TO REACH

Most convenient mode of travel is by train up to New Cooch Behar Station. Many trains are available but the most convenient is 3141 UP Tista-Torsa Express which leaves Sealdah Station daily at 1:55 p.m. You can reach Cooch Behar town from New Cooch Behar Station easily by bus, mini-bus, auto rickshaw or car.


BEST TIME TO VISIT

Can be visited round the year except peak monsoon. Winter is the most pleasant season.
