BHAGSU
ABOUT THE PLACE

Bhagsu, a nondescript village placed inside the Himachal Himalayas, is full of natural charm. Only 2 kilometers away is McLeodganj, overrun by Tibetan refugees and western visitors who began to come here in large numbers after Dalai Lama, the exiled Tibetan religious leader, made McLeodganj his home. Yet somehow Bhagsu has been able to remain sequestered. Take some very refreshing walks along the forested trails, picnic by the side of mountain springs or spend some meditative hours at the small, sixteenth century Shiva Temple to freshen up mind, body and soul.

HOW TO REACH

McLoedganj, 2 km ahead of Bhagsu, is the main entry point. There are regular buses to McLeodganj from Manali, Delhi, Pathankot. From McLeodganj taxis and auto rickshaws travel to Bhagsu. Alternatively, one can simply walk up to Bhagsu from McLeodganj.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

The weather is pleasant round the year except the winter in the months of December and January.
